about my breeding program

I focus on raising Border Collies that are not only intelligent and active, but also well-balanced and suited to family life.
Health and temperament are my top priorities. My breeding dogs are carefully selected, and I am committed to responsible breeding practices that support the long-term wellbeing of every puppy I raise.
Each litter is raised with attention, structure, and care — not just for the first few weeks, but with their future homes in mind.

the dogs behind bordermeade border collies

Every breeding program is only as good as the dogs behind it. At Bordermeade Border Collies, my dogs are carefully selected for:
     • Temperament
     • Structure
     • Health
     • Their ability to live and function in real life
They are not just breeding dogs — they are part of my family and daily life here in Kinchela, NSW.

How my dogs are raised

All my dogs are raised as part of the family.
They do not live in kennels except at night and when we are away from the property for their own safety.
They experience:
     • Time in the house and yard
     • Social outings such as local cafés
     • Travel and caravan holidays
     • Interaction with people and other dogs
This lifestyle helps shape dogs that are:
     • Social
     • Confident
     • Adaptable

My Breeding Philosophy

I take a thoughtful and long-term approach to breeding.
This includes:
     • Careful selection of breeding dogs
     • Health testing before breeding
     • Pairing dogs based on temperament and structure
     • Raising puppies with intention and structure
My focus is always on producing dogs that will thrive in real homes.

What this means to my puppies

The qualities you see in my adult dogs are what I aim to pass on to my puppies.
This includes:
     • Stable temperaments
     • Trainability
     • Ability to settle in the home
     • Confidence in everyday environments

Raising dogs that fit real life

My goal is not just to breed good puppies — but to breed dogs that thrive in real homes.
That means dogs that are:
     • Able to settle and relax
     • Capable of learning and working when asked
     • Confident without being overwhelming
     • Adaptable to different environments and situations
A well-bred, well-raised Border Collie should be a pleasure to live with — not a constant challenge.

future plans

I am always working toward improving and maintaining the quality of my breeding program.
My goal is to continue producing Border Collies that are:
     • Healthy
     • Well-balanced
     • Suitable for both families and active homes

the perfect blend of activity and relaxation

My border collies love their playtime as much as their nap time, and I make sure they get the perfect balance of both.
We often go down to the local off leash dog beach for a swim and run around away from home. Or we may just go into town and sit and relax with a coffee while the dogs laze at our feet. Whatever the situation the dogs love whatever we are doing.
It is important my dogs have time sniffing and meeting and greeting other dogs and people away from their environment. That is why we also take the young puppies down to the local beach kiosk for puppy cuddles to ensure socialisation happens while they are still with their mum.

Travelling Together: Border Collies on the Move

One of the most special aspects of my border collies’ lifestyle is how well they’ve adapted to traveling. Whether we’re setting off for a weekend getaway or an extended trip in our caravan, they’re always ready to join the adventure. Their calm demeanour makes traveling a breeze, and their enthusiasm for exploring new places adds an extra layer of excitement to every journey.
In the caravan, they have their designated spots where they can relax. With their own camp stretchers to laze on throughout the day, they feel right at home no matter where we are. We make frequent stops to give them time to stretch their legs, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the sights and smells of new surroundings. Watching them explore with such curiosity and happiness is one of the most rewarding parts of traveling together.
