My goal is not just to place puppies, but to match them with the right homes and set both you and your puppy up for long-term success.
From your first enquiry through to bringing your puppy home—and beyond—I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
Is a Border Collie the Right Dog for You?
Border Collies are intelligent, active, and highly capable dogs.
They thrive in homes where:
• They receive regular mental stimulation
• They are included in daily life
• Their intelligence is guided through training
They are incredibly rewarding dogs—but they are not the right fit for every household.
If you’re considering a Border Collie puppy, I’m always happy to help you decide if this breed is the right fit for your home and lifestyle.
For some families, adopting an older Border Collie through rescue may also be worth considering.
Border Collie Rescue & AdoptionHow My Puppy Process Works
Step 1 – Enquiry or Application
The first step is to get in touch.
You can send through an enquiry and tell me more about your home, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a puppy.
This helps me understand whether one of my puppies is the right fit for you.
Step 2 – Joining the Waitlist
I offer two waitlist options depending on where you are in your decision-making process.
Deposit Waitlist (“A” List)
This is for committed homes. A deposit secures your place in line and gives you priority when it comes time to choose a puppy.
Enquiry Waitlist (“B” List)
This is ideal if you’re still researching or not quite ready to commit.
Updates are shared on Facebook so you can follow along and learn more about upcoming litters.
You’re welcome to join either waitlist before or after puppies are born, depending on availability.
Step 3 – Litter Updates
Once puppies are born, I provide updates on Facebook so you can follow their progress as they grow.
This includes their development, early milestones, and how each puppy is progressing as an individual.
Why I Prefer Puppies to Go Home Closer to 60 Days
Puppies are legally able to leave for their new homes from 8 weeks of age (56 days). Where possible, I prefer puppies to remain with their litter until around 60 days of age, allowing a little extra time for social development, confidence building, and a smoother transition into family life.
The first few weeks of a puppy's life are an important period of learning and development.
During this time, puppies learn valuable social skills from their mother and littermates, including communication, bite inhibition, confidence, and appropriate dog-to-dog interactions.
The Importance of Early Socialisation
Before puppies leave for their new homes, they are exposed to a variety of everyday experiences designed to help prepare them for life as family companions. This includes handling, household noises, different surfaces, enrichment activities, and positive interactions with people.
These early experiences help support confidence and adaptability as puppies transition into their new homes.
Step 4 – Choosing Your Border Collie Puppy
Puppies are allocated in order of deposit received. You are welcome to choose your puppy, with my guidance to ensure the best possible match.
After placing a deposit, you’ll complete a short questionnaire so I can better understand your home, lifestyle, and expectations.
As the puppies grow, I carry out personality and temperament assessments. This helps me understand each puppy’s individual traits, learning style, and the type of home they are best suited to. From there, I will guide you in selecting a puppy that fits well with your lifestyle.
Once your puppy is chosen, I’ll also provide guidance to help you understand how they think, learn, and what will help them settle into your home.

How I Assess Puppy Temperament
As the puppies grow, I spend time observing and assessing each puppy's developing personality and temperament.
At around 7 weeks of age, I carry out puppy temperament and personality assessments to help me better understand each puppy's individual traits.
Some of the areas I observe include:
This includes:
• Confidence
• Human focus
• Energy levels
• Resilience
• Touch tolerance
• Sound and environmental sensitivity
• Motivation and willingness to engage
• Interactions with other dogs and people
These assessments are only one part of the picture. I also use my daily observations of the puppies as they grow and develop.
No temperament test can perfectly predict a puppy's future personality, but it provides valuable insight and helps me guide families towards the puppy that may best suit their lifestyle and expectations.
My goal is not to choose your puppy for you, but to provide honest guidance so you can make an informed decision.
Step 5 – Preparing for Your Border Collie Puppy
Before your puppy goes home, I’ll guide you on how to prepare so everything feels manageable and clear.
This includes:
• Setting up your home
• Establishing a routine
• Understanding early behaviours
• Knowing what to expect in the first few weeks
My aim is to make the transition as smooth as possible for both you and your puppy.
If you’re unsure about anything during this stage, you’re always welcome to reach out—I’m here to support you before your puppy even arrives.
Step 6 – Bringing Your Border Collie Puppy Home
Puppies are ready to go home from 8 weeks of age (56 days). Where possible, I prefer puppies to leave closer to 60 days (8 weeks + 4 days) to support a smoother transition and help reduce separation-related stress.
By this stage, your puppy has had a structured and well-supported start and is ready to begin life with their new family.
I do prefer puppies to be collected in person where possible. However, I understand that transport may be necessary.
Puppies are only sold within Australia, and transport can be arranged at the buyer’s expense.
Why My Process Matters
My process is designed to give each puppy the best possible start and to help you feel confident every step of the way.
From early raising and structured routines to personality assessments and ongoing guidance, everything is done with long-term success in mind.
This means you’re not just bringing home a puppy—you’re starting with:
• Clear communication throughout the process
• Insight into your puppy’s personality and behaviour
• Preparation and guidance before they come home
• Ongoing support whenever you need it
It’s a more thoughtful, supported approach that helps both you and your puppy settle in with confidence.
